Tuesday, February 26, 2013:
- Pages 376 and 377 are up.
- There was another death in the family late yesterday. The comic will be going on hiatus for one week while we handle funeral matters. Updates will return to normal schedule Tuesday, March 12. I hope to post some sketches or a guest comic during the hiatus, but things are still up in the air right now and I am not sure how long I will be away.
- Due to funeral travel, I will most likely not be at Staple!Austin this Saturday, and may miss the event entirely. I will post an update as soon as definite information is available.
I apologize for the delays and cancellations, and thank you for your patience.

Tuesday, January 22, 2013:
- Pages 364 and 365 are up.
- If you are outside the United States and would like to purchase anything from the TJ & Amal Store, now is the time to do it! On January 27, the U.S. Postal Service is dramatically raising the price of international postage.
The hike will increase the cost of international shipping on a single book from $13.00 to $16.50 ($12.00 Canada), and on book bundles from $16.50 to $24.00 ($20.00 Canada).
Shipping within the US will increase by $1.00 per book; shipping cost will not change on small items, which ship domestic First Class.
I will be raising the shipping rates in the store late January 25 or early morning January 26.

- Notes, Archive, and Convention Appearances are updated.
- Added a much-belated link to one of my favorite webcomics, Monster Pulse. It's an all-ages monster-adventure story in the vein of Digimon, but with a more grounded feel. Check it out! Also removed dead and dormant links, and added "artist" to note pages that go to portfolios rather than directly to a webcomic.
- For those of you over 18, the paperback edition of Smut Peddler is now available!
Smut Peddler contains roughly 350 lovely black and white pages of diverse, body-positive erotic comics by some very talented women artists, including Carla Speed McNeil (Finder), Erika Moen (DAR, Bucko) , Spike Trotman (Templar, AZ), and Jess Fink (Chester XYV5000)! I've also got a 21-page story in there that covers a little bit of TJ's past. I'm very proud to have been invited and to have participated in this anthology, and I hope you enjoy it! (Again, Smut Peddler is for adults only!)

Monday, September 10, 2012:
- A few months ago, I posted about Smut Peddler, an upcoming anthology of erotic comics by female creators. I've got a 21-page story in it about a younger TJ and a cute punk rock girl. Anyway, good news - the book is complete, and if you pre-ordered via Kickstarter, the PDF is now available for download! Smut Peddler will be available for the general (adult) public to purchase via Iron Circus Comics after the backers receive their preordered copies.
(That's all the information I have on Smut Peddler distribution and sales; please direct any questions to the editors.)
- In less thrilling news, I just found out last night that an iTunes webcomic app has been ganking TJ & Amal, among many others, for several months. If you've been reading TJ & Amal or any other webcomics through a third-party app, please use an RSS reader instead, or even better, visit the webcomic site directly. Most of the time, these apps are ripping comic content without the creator's permission, and any profits go into a stranger's pocket while the actual comic creator loses ad revenue and pageviews. Please support independent artists, not content scrapers! Thanks.

- The comic is on a short hiatus; updates will resume Tuesday, June 26.Everything is fine; I just have some short-term jobs that need to take priority for a while. Namely: a freelance design gig, custom illustrations for one of the special Smut Peddler pledge packages, and (drumroll...) layout and prepress work for TJ & Amal Volume 2: Wanderlust Kings.
I've pushed up the timeline in hopes of having copies of Volume 2 available at Small Press Expo this September -- this means I need to get everything to the printer by mid-July, so better get down to business!
Volume 2 will contain Chapters 14 through 29 and related back matter, coming out at 184 pages. Price will be $15.00, same as Volume 1. If you'd like to follow the book as it comes together, I'm posting progress info every so often on my Tumblr.

Just so you know, during weeks when the most current pages are NSFW, the "Mature Readers" sign on the upper left will appear lit up. The light goes back off when worksafe pages are posted. Pages that contain nudity are marked "NSFW" in the dropdown menu below the comic.

Store news:
- Keychain charms have been sold out for a couple of days, but I will be ordering more from the manufacturer soon, including some updated designs!
- I'm currently in negotiations with a shirt manufacturing & printing service, and hope to offer TJ & Amal T-shirts by mid-summer. This Tumblr post has more details.
- Shipping methods and fees have changed for orders shipping to the CIS/former Russian states: orders now ship International Registered Mail, Priority, or Express Mail, depending on size. Hopefully this will help decrease delays in Customs.

Saturday, February 25, 2012:
- I've been getting several messages every day asking why the RSS Feed hasn't updated since January 1. Actually, the RSS Feed has been updating just fine; the problem seems to be with Google Reader (the feed page also breaks in Google Chrome, for some reason). So while I'm glad the malfunction is not on my end, the downside is that there's nothing I can do to fix the problem at its root.

Taking a break for the rest of the year. The comic is going on hiatus so I can spend December drawing and rebuilding a backlog of pages. The story resumes Tuesday, January 3. In the meantime, I'll still be updating every few days with guest comics from some wonderful artists, plus a few little extras.
- Volume 1 books are now available in the Store!
Due to my workload, I've had to limit the number of signed & sketched books for a while. I'll be making those available in batches of 20 to 25 books at a time, each batch going up when I complete the previous one. The first 20 have already sold out, but there will be more signed & sketched books available later this week.
- Chapters 1 through 5 now available in Polish!

- Quick reminder: There won't be any new TJ & Amal story pages next month; I'll be taking December off to rebuild the buffer and finish another comic project. I will, however, be posting guest comics throughout the month! Some wonderful artists are already on board, and I'm excited to share these with you. Guest comics will probably start December 5.

Apologies for the truncated update; this past week, all the time I normally devote to comic work has been spent dealing with file transfer issues with the printer. Said issues have been resolved as of Saturday, so things will be back to 2 pages a week next Tuesday.

Unfortunately, due to a recent rise in postage costs for rigid/padded flat packages, I've had to raise shipping prices for overseas print orders (not including Canada). Shipping prices for small items like buttons have not changed.

- Book news: Thanks so much to everyone who pledged during the Kickstarter fund drive! Volume I (Chapters 1-13) should be sent to the printer around the end of the month. I'm still tweaking the cover illustration and collecting names for the Acknowledgments, but everything else is ready to go. The book will be printed at standard comic size, with perfect binding, interior pages print offset in black on 100% post-consumer recycled paper, and a glossy full color cover.
Books will be available in the Store after all the Kickstarter-preordered copies have shipped.

- The TJ & Amal Volume 1 Kickstarter Project launched late last night!
Long story short, it's a pledge drive to raise the funds necessary to get Chapters 1-13 made into an offset-print, high quality, finely bound book. Please take a look! Even if you can't donate, there's a silly video to watch.
- Apologies again for the delay in shipping keychains and buttons. The padded mailers never shipped from the supplier, so I have canceled that order and have reordered similar mailers from a different company. They should arrive early next week, and keychains and buttons will ship shortly after.

More fan translations have been popping up! There are Portuguese and Spanish translations going up on Tumblr -- I'll link those soon -- and I've also been asked about Dutch and Finnish translations. There's also an additional Russian translation and a Russian fan community over here.
All these translations are done by volunteers on their own time - I'm really amazed by everybody's dedication and enthusiasm! Thank you so much!

Wednesday, December 15, 2010:
I am sad to say the comic is going on a short hiatus and updates will be scaled back for a while after that.
I was hit by a car while biking on Thursday, December 2. The damage to my leg is more extensive than originally thought, and I have to go in to be outfitted with a bionic knee for major surgery this week. I'll be out of commission for a while and will have to keep the number of pages per update scaled down during the cyborgization process recovery period in weeks to come. Bone-mend and Rehab drain massive amounts of HP and MP so I have to go to the inn super early each day.
Assuming all goes well, the next update will be on Tuesday, December 28. I look forward to putting those pages up.
